1. Establishment (Babur) Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodi in the First Battle of Panipat (1526). This marked the beginning of Mughal rule. He used cannons and gunpowder for the first time in India. Students listen and note down dates. Lecture & Map work 1526: 1st Battle of Panipat. Founder: Babur.
2. Akbar the Great Akbar expanded the empire. He introduced Din-i-Ilahi (Universal peace) and the Mansabdari System. He built Fatehpur Sikri. Students note the policy of religious tolerance. Explanation Akbar: Mansabdari System, Din-i-Ilahi.
3. Architecture (Shah Jahan) Mughal architecture reached its peak under Shah Jahan. He built the Taj Mahal, Red Fort, and Jama Masjid. It used white marble and pietra dura work. Students identify the monuments in the chart. Demonstration (Chart) Golden Age of Architecture: Shah Jahan.
4. Administration & Decline The empire was divided into Subas (provinces). Under Aurangzeb, the empire was largest but faced many revolts, leading to its gradual decline. Students understand the administrative structure. Discussion Subas, Sarkar, Pargana. Decline after 1707.
